The centenary of the Gallipoli campaign and World War I will be the high-water mark in remembrance. Now that the original veterans are gone and that those generations brought up on their stories are passing, the campaign will eventually fade from a nation's memory. More contemporary war stories will replace them. But not just yet, not now. We owe them that.
